Nouvelle Affaire is a company born from the association of Pascal Humbert and Catherine Traoré in June 2009.
Philippe Stark was the first to request Nouvelle Affaire’s participation for the Los Angeles SLS hotel, for which Pascal Humbert offered a new vision of functional work garments.
The uniform becomes a wardrobe corresponding to the identity and the ethics of the brand, and clients whom they work with.
In March 2012, Nouvelle Affaire moved into the Marais, at 5 rue Debelleyme and opened it’s doors to the public.
Continuing his research on garment,
Nouvelle Affaire suggest « Sur Mesure » .
The choice can be made in the permanent collection of Nouvelle Affaire or the model can be a new study and creation, as a unique piece.

The villa Noailles has given Nouvelle Affaire carte blanche for the 2014 festival. The main hall of the 1920s building is dressed with the company’s house style, which also unfolds within an ephemeral boutique containing a selection of limited editions and unique pieces. For this first collaboration, Baptiste Debombourg and Marianne Maric have been invited by Nouvelle Affaire to create designs specifically for the location.

Catherine Baba has created her ‘Essensuals’ capsule collection for the ‘laboratorial’ boutique Nouvelle Affaire, conceived by Pascal Humbert & Catherine Traoré.
The Collection is an hommage to the illustrators , photographers, artists & their muses that have galvanized Catherine Baba.
The Pop-up store features a ‘forest installation’ inspired by the paper-cut decors of Cecil Beaton brought
to life by the set designer Pierre Glanddier & dedicated to Nancy Cunard, the infamously celebrated socialite rebel & revolutionary, poet & artist…
In ‘Celebration of a collaboration’ Catherine Baba embraces the talent of young illustrator Gordon Flores, to give birth to their exclusive ’Babaïste’ print where multiple illustrations of Catherine Baba dance to the tune of her fetish words ‘ Devotion ’, ‘Fantasia ’,’ Jadooor ’ & of course ’Darling’.

Nouvelle Affaire’s Opening invitation
The research for the hotels SLS expresses a poetic and funny vision of the uniform, whose name we want to forget.
By integrating the “trompe l’oeil”, the stamp of the creator, the notions of elegance and identity are associated and merge to enhance the hotel’s staff with fancy clean line suits.
The different garments of neutral colours such as light grey, dark grey, black, white and pale pink are often used in pairs depending on the staff function.
The outfits are available on the same basis of clothes for each group and sex while changing certain details in order to differentiate from each role and status, that way the hotel staff appears like a big family.
The unity of silhouette is elegant and chic, every uniform is adapted to diverse types of weather and practices on the boat. The lines are cleaned to their maximum, certain details, such as the shoulder tabs, recall the marine, but overall it is a new and refined type of uniform, the materials are based on cotton and stretch wool to enable movement.
The clothes closures, shirt and jacket buttons, the zips are concealed to give more simplicity to the garment. The ranks and the monogram, emblem of the boat, are discretely embroidered with silver thread.
In harmony with the pure lines of the crystals and the architecture of the concept stores of Swarovski, Pascal Humbert emphasizes the geometry of the garment while integrating a luxurious and practical vision. The cuts of the clothes are inspired from crystals, and the chosen materials, cotton poplin, jersey cotton lycra, cotton polyester stretch canvas are comfortable to wear and have an easy maintenance.
The use of white, grey, dark grey, gives the staff elegance, comfort and discretion.
